Initial Meeting or MIAM (Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting)
Initial meeting (MIAM) costs £85. The meeting lasts 45 to 60 mins. This fee is inclusive of correspondence, phone calls and, where applicable, the mediation certificate (form for court).
Mediation Sessions
Each mediation session lasts up to 1.5 hours and costs £140 per person. However mediation about children only (ie. not finances) costs £125 per person for each session 1.5 hour session.
Payment is made at each session, by card, cash or cheque. There is no VAT to pay.
Voucher Scheme: The MOJ currently have a voucher scheme which may help with the fees for joint mediation meetings on children matters. These awards are discretionary and can only be applied for after both parties have attended a MIAM with us and have provided written consent.
We no longer offer Legal Aid.
Summaries
In Finance and Property cases, we charge a one off fixed fee of £140 per person per document to draw up the Open Statement of Finances and the Memorandum of Understanding.
Court Application
If you require a mediation certificate (formerly FM1) for the courts, we will supply this to you free of charge if you have attended a MIAM with us.
Cancellation fees
If appointments are cancelled by either client with less than 24 hours notice we reserve the right to charge the cost of the session.
